3/4" NPT Cool Blue TD52 Thermo-Dynamic Steam Trap, Stainless Steel, with ENP Finish, Integral Insul Cap

The Spirax-Sarco industrial thermodynamic disc trap, model TD52, features a 3/4" trap connection in an in-line horizontal configuration. Thermodynamic disc traps are intermittent in their operation, discharging condensate very near to steam temperature, therefore keeping it free from condensate. On start-up incoming pressure raises the disc and cool condensate, plus air, is immediately discharged. Hot condensate flowing through the trap releases flash steam. High velocity creates a low pressure area under the disc and draws it toward the seat. At the same time there is a pressure buildup of the flash steam in the chamber above the disc, which forces it down against the seats on the inner ring and closes the inlet. Pressure in the chamber is decreased by condensation of the flash steam and the disc is raised. The cycle is then repeated. This trap is ideal for high pressure systems and features the ability to resist corrosion and freezing. The TD52 is stainless steel, has a 600 psi maximum operating pressure and 1,250 pounds per hour capacity.
